You have to undergo a medical exam where you have to face physical and psychological tests followed by an interview which will be very intense. Applicants with hearing aides are usually disqualified. If you had used drugs in the past you have to explain your condition clearly. A polygraph test, a drug test and background investigation is conducted to confirm your statements regarding your past drug use. Once you clear these tests which take almost 12 months you stand a chance to get employed. This will be followed by 16 week training in Quantico, Virginia where the DEA training academy is located.
